I would like one of those guys or a trade down at 12. I think we should grab Armstead in the 2nd, a Chris Faulk type in the 5th, and between those 2, Martin, and our current backups we should find two starters who can do the jobs.

It also gives the team leverage in negotiations, when the player wants more money everyone at the table knows he can be replaced. The new rookie cap has changed the way all teams will do business going forward and draft picks have never been more valuable.

    wow.

we have NO cb's. and i dont want to hear anything about a guy coming off maybe the worst injury an athlete can get, missing a WHOLE YEAR and a good portion of the previous with a bad knee injury. he isnt 22 years old either. the reason we signed him? OUR CB'S SUCK!! we need starters AND decent backups. everyone else we have right now are injured has been's, other teams cast offs [some coming off injuries to boot!] and no talents.

in THIS day of the nfl, the top 3 things you need are: 1. legit wr's. 2. cb's, and quality ones top to bottom. 3. pass rush.

yes, we need another pass rusher to pair with wake, but, dont forget, we were TOP 5 in pass rush last year, we had sacks and pressure. and our cb's STILL were the worst in the nfl. so, what does that tell you?

AND all this "there is a lot of talent at cb in the draft, dont take one high". RIGHT!! THERES SOME GREAT DRAFT STRATEGY!! lets take a position thats the biggest need on the team right now and pass up the top players and settle for the less talented guys later HOPING and WISHING they hit a jewel in the 6th round. this is the kind of thinking that has led up to miami being the LEAST talented team in the nfl for the last decade!!!

it wasnt long ago ireland used this same strategy. he had one of the top safetys in the draft, one of the best to come out in a while sitting in his lap. and, we needed safety's in the WORST way. no brainer, right? nope! he trades WAY down and selects JARED ODERICK who we are all still waiting on.

that safety? he is now a perenial pro bowler in seattle helping them to playoff appearances and are a LEGIT choice for the superbowl this year.

trufant will probably be there. if he is, this is the same no brainer situation ireland was in with oderick. trufant fits what we need better than ANY cb in this draft. BALL HAWK [millner and rhodes are not, especially rhodes!], aggressive, has mass range [another check off for rhodes] speed [there goes rhodes again], and is scheme versatile [yet another check off for rhodes]. why exactly are fans so xavier rhodes happy?

and if trufant is there, there IS NO other choice to make. glaring need , the one who fits our need and scheme the best, ball hawk, real game speed. another NO BRAINER! [show me grimes in december, IF he makes it out of camp. untill then, he is a ghost you cant rest the secondary on him].

oh, yeah, the ireland factor. oh well.

the MAIN reason we lost last year was NOT having the cb's to match up with even DECENT wr's, much less the games better ones. top to bottom, we are in bad shape in that area. the only thing changed so far is we have NO starters [grimes is nothing but paper work right now] and the same awful depth we had last year. teams scored at will through the air on us, even with a top 5 pass rush!!
