Owner Woody Johnson is reluctant to give Revis a long-term contract extension, according to sources. That would leave two options: Trade him, or let him play out the season and risk losing him with nothing in return. He will be an unrestricted free agent in 2014 because the Jets are prohibited from using the franchise tag, per a clause in his contract.

I think you and a few others on here are over valuing Eifert. I'd be surprised if he goes in the top 20 let alone top 15. Regardless, let the Jets take him. They have so many holes a rookie TE won't begin to fill them. It'll give Sanchez a check down comfort blanket and we see where that got them last year.

The real detriment to that trade is we lose more power to trade down. With the Jets surrounding us in picks they are easier trade partners if teams want to move up. You also better bet they will want to trade down one of those firsts so they can draft more cheap young players that in they mind will grow into solid starters.

Every time I see a stupid post I remind myself we don't have this guy as a fan

Great trade for the Jets. They got rid of Captain Holdout and his absurd salary (he can only cover one guy at a time, why tie up 1/10 of your salary cap in him?), got high picks in exchange for him, and are poised to rebuild quickly in 2014 after Taco and the Fat One are gone.

This sig in memory of 'Crazylegs' Elroy Hirsch. Go. Packers.

The Jets have too many holes to worry about drafting a tight end. Hell, I hope they do draft Eifert. Who is going to get him the ball?

Word on the street is the Jets will take Geno Smith and Tavon Austin; idc about Smith though... and the fact of the matter is, they have to wait to see what we do.. If we take Austin, they'll take Eifert. If we take Eifert, they'll take Austin. Either way, they just lost the centerpiece of their defense.

Welcome to the back seat, biatch

I've always thought the Jets failed to properly use Keller. Whether by preference or incompetence, it just felt like Keller didn't get the ball as much as he should've. Either way, it makes me doubt they would even consider taking an early TE, especially considering all the holes they have.

I highly doubt this helps the Dolphins in any way, but I suppose it's possible if someone thinks the Jets will take a player they want more than they thought the Bucs would. (Assuming you agree that trading down is good for the phins).

Either way, this is a great deal for the Jets since they wouldn't have been able to retain Revis after this year (a rebuliding year) anyway.
Not every human is a manipulative, opportunistic, letch... or at least that's what I'm told.

I don't know, I think the Jets will go with defensive guys in the first round. They lost a lot of starters on D.

I honestly think the Jets have much bigger needs than Eifert...not sure why there is such a fuss about a TE when they could get Jones, Mingo, Rhodes, Trufant, Vaccaro, etc...
Jets suck, Bills suck, Patriots suck.
