Honestly, this sucks. If we could have filled the LT hole with the 54th pick that would have let us concentrate on other needs and have a competent LT. I hope Martin can show the FO he can handle it. I really don't want to trade up. The #3 pick is still going to make 21Mil over 5 years. I'd pay the extra three mil and move forward with our top two picks.
    Let's go Miami!!!!

would you rather make $9 million for one year, with no guarantees after that, or $7 million for 5 or 6 years?

Negotiations between the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins, who have interest in offensive tackle Branden Albert, hit a major snag when Albert's contract demands caught the Dolphins off guard.
Miami reportedly misjudged the market when it targeted Vincent Jackson last year in free agency. General Manager Jeff Ireland may be determined to make sure he doesn't make the same mistake again during this year's free-agent signing period.

    At least we're consistent.
"Ignorance is not an excuse" were the words Goodell used when describing why those involved in the Saints bounty scandal would not avoid punishment.

And to add to what jared pointed out, he knows that if he signs that contract, he'll then be a 30 year old FA with back issues whose most recent experience was playing RT. Not to mention whatever LT FA competition he'll have. He knows this is the time to get the most money.

Settle down people. This is simply gamesmanship to reduce the draft pick.

I am surprised people here think that Albert would be inexpensive.

IMO we don't trade up for any position that doesn't put the ball in the endzone. Draft a RT in round 2 or 3 and roll with it this year seeing what happens.
