Get it done. I like it. Make the deal with 54. Toss in a 6 or 7 and call it square.

Miami would have loved to wait until they make it through their 1st(12) round and 2nd(42) player is selected to make their decision,I would have too.

I really think the Chiefs are making us finish trade prior to their first pick.

I'd tell KC if you want us to make the trade prior to draft, its a 3rd(77) and 7th(277)

If we can wait until we are on the clock at 54 then(54) is the offer.

Yall really think we can draft a better LT in the 2nd or 3rd round? We tried that route with John Jerry and Jonathan Martin and those guys are liabilities on the o-line.

    Here are the options

    1) you pay Albert and trade a 2nd rounder

    2) you leave the o-line and HOPE that Tannehill has time to throw to the high priced new weapons, who wont be worth a damn if tannehill doesnt have time to throw. Also our running game will be nonexistence. Does anyone really think o-line is strong right now? the answer is no, its very weak.

    3) you trade up to get one of the three LT's which means we are essentially using two picks (1st and 2nd rounder) on a unproven LT.

Option 1 is the best for our situation. if we had a top 5 pick and knew that one of the LT's would be available then obviously we wouldnt be having this discussion

77th pick take it or leave it. Second round is too high for someone with back problems and that will have a significant contract. We are still one year away from being legitimate contenders so if Martin sucks at LT we can address that issue next off-season. We have some young tackles on the roster so hopefully one of them develops into a quality RT. The worst part is that we are giving up a pick to pay someone Jake Long money after we let Jake Long walk.

If this is true, it's clear that this team will never ****ing get it. Just when I get my hopes up (FINALLY getting a real QB), they go and **** it all up. At this rate, they should be able to start competing in 2013 style football in about 2030.

Option 1 just bothers so many of us because we may as well have kept Jake Long if we're going to pay big money for a LT.

Option 2 may actually help Tannehill out in the long run if he's forced to get the ball out quicker let develop talent, we don't know if we have a crappy o-line since the season hasn't started yet. You don't need sexy big name players on the o-line you need a cohesive unit that blocks well. The giants seem to always have a great o-line but they dont draft linemen high.

Option 3 I really hope this doesnt happen. By far the worst option. Only way I could stomach it is if we move up to get Joeckel for really cheap, which is not likely.

Is he that much of a better fit that it's worth a second rounder? The 54th pick in this draft should net a starter, and I would rather have Jake Long + another quality player over a mild upgrade at LT.

Have any of you watched film on Albert, or are you just going off of what PFF says?

The guy is a good left tackle, he's in his prime, and he's a Miami native. Top 5 pass blocking LT. So he's not the best run blocker, which pulled his overall ranking down. Our offense is not built around the run, we need to protect our QB. You won't find anyone like him in the draft with the 42 or 54 pick.

Is it the contract that bothers you? Do you really care that Ross wants to pay extra to protect Tanny? While nothing is ever certain, I think this could be the best situation for us right now if we want to become a playoff caliber team in the next year.
