Breaking FINS have had little or no communication with Albert!

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports the Dolphins have had "little or no communication" with the Chiefs regarding Branden Albert for "almost two weeks."

The report seems to run a bit contradictory to NFL Network's Monday evening story that claimed Miami is willing to meet Albert's asking price. Money no longer seems to be a sticking point as the Chiefs wait out the Dolphins' trade-compensation offer. It's believed the Fins are trying to get Albert for the 54th pick. Kansas City wants Miami's earlier second-rounder at No. 42 overall.

I think the whole Albert thing is a smoke screen to drive down the price of trading up with someone. Someone other than KC. I think they are floating the 2nd round pick to dangle that as the alternative. The real plan is to trade up and grab a top OT.

Miami has little motivation to actually make this deal before Friday.

    It doesn't matter.
If the chiefs take a top OT it makes Albert expendable. They have to trade him.
If they don't the one of those 3 falls a little farther than expected making it easier for us to move up.

or u could go with the Omar Kelly favorite draft Cooper and move Jerry to RT so the dolphins "have a guard who can pull in the zone scheme"

Now THIS makes perfect sense. As someone else in the other thread mentioned, the first story about the fins accepting the money side of the deal, was put out there by the agent of Alberts so SD or another stupid team would think we actually were considering his absurd demands. But when that story broke, Ireland got on the phone and let someone know that story wasn't true. This lets SD or any other team know not to make any rash decisions.

As I have said for weeks now, THIS IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN UNTIL THURSDAY AT THE EARLIEST, and probably not at all. It is a fall back plan at most.

I don't like either option much to be honest. I'd rather go with Albert instead of losing both a 2nd rounder and our first. And a top OT only saves you $2M over Albert.

    Which would you rather have?
