Adam Schefter of ESPN points out what seems obvious in a draft with no sure things, that about half the top 12 want to move down.
Schefter specifically mentioned the Eagles (fourth), Lions (fifth), Browns (sixth), Bills (eighth) and Dolphins (12th) as having made calls trying to trade down.

If thatís the case, the law of supply and demand is about to kick in, making it harder for any of them to get the kind of return theyíd normally want, if anyoneís even willing to move up to the spots they occupy.
Good news. This implies the Albert deal is all but official.

I'll give ya the trenches but, past that is potential or short term projects to see.

To me there's a Top 23, and then there's the start of a very deep 2nd group. I'd be looking to move back up to get impact players from that top group (as some will fall).

**** that man, when is the last time someone taht traded down and picked up picks got all those picks to become good or great players? even half ot the picks to say the least?

Look at the browns trade with ATL, Julio is a super star the rest of the players the Browns got are all BUMS and they got like 5 picks out of it. Look at miami trade down from 12 to 28 with SD and we got Odrick taht we dont need and Misi that wont be back while JPP is a super star and so forth.

Best value is in Rounds 2 and 3, so I guess it makes sense.
Please God, let me see 1 Dolphins Superbowl victory before I die.

If we are pursuing Albert for a 2nd, then it tells me OL is NOT the priority @ 12 or 42. I believe Eifert @ 12 and CB @ 42. I believe those 2 picks or at least the 2 positions are the priority with 12 and 42. And I believe, with pick value between 42/54 being secondary, is the real reason we don't want to part with 42.

I believe we try to bail out of 12 if Eifert is picked ahead of us. And like so many have said, I believe the Revis trade has certainly made 12 a VERY appealing position right now. The Jets NEED TE and WR in the first round.

If they want Eifert, they'll have to pick him with their first pick. If they don't, he's gone by 13. Further implying if they pick Eifert, there will be a huge market for teams trying to jump in front of the Jets @ 13 to pick WR.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get Eifert, we'll trade down and pick up another 2 or 3 and trade for Albert.

I believe they've decided that we need 5 or 6 starters to come from this draft. If that's the case, we'll be REAL busy using the bottom 6 picks, the 12 and possibly trading players to get us 6 or 7 picks in the 2's and 3's. Just how I see this draft coinciding with our FA moves. Seems like there is a big emphasis on getting the collective organization moving in a bold new direction that DESPERATELY needs W's on the field to get the fans to buy into it. New logo, stadium renovations, massive splashes in FA and a lot of draft day buzz.

There's a lot riding on this offseason. And we're being VERY aggressive. Me likey.

To me it is Ireland and Aponte setting us up to recoup the damage from the likely scenario that KC holds off for the 42nd pick in the trade for Albert. Because once Johnson is gone, expect SD to offer the 45th pick for Albert and we'll be forced to send them pick 42 and Ireland is being proactive in trying to recoup the loss.
