Also Defenses must deal with the read option.

Last season we used our best corner to cover Hartline who still had his best season. The Dolphins only had Bess on the other side and almost no slot WR (look a our stats).

Now we have to cover Mike Wallace with our best and a safety and leave Hartline on our 2nd best corner defending his island. And now the Dolphin have Gibson in the slot and Keller instead of Fasono at TE. Now we have to really worry about both of those players. And they picked up a good TE who can block, we are going to see a lot of 2 TEs against them.

Also, Their QB Tannehill is no longer a rookie, their passing game went from something we could manage to something we have to fear.

They lost Jake Long but Martin has had a season and their new RT is playing well. it gives them bookends for 10 years which sucks for us.

On defense they got a lot faster. They are now going to have one of the fastest pairs of pass rushers in the NFL so we need to work extra on our protection that week. No more just having to worry about Cam Wake.

Their LBing corp also got younger and faster and they added the best coverage LB in the draft. TEs, you are going to have more of a problem getting open. And we will have to worry more about blitzes while at the same time the rush from just their front four has gotten a lot better.

Their secondary is younger and faster. And they added the veteran Grimes. they recovered quickly after losing V Davis and s smith.

and their kicker is better, we are going to have to take more risk to keep them out of scoring range.

All and all, we look better.

    p.s. forgot my tank

Sounds great but what about the old Belechick vs the Colts strategy? Put your 2nd best CB on Wallace and double him with a safety put you best CB man to man with Hartline and make Hartline, Gibson and Keller beat you. It worked great for NE in erasing Harrison and stopping Wayne, we need to thyink of this stuff because we can't do squat without getting past NE. I really wanted another weapon out there on offense.

Dion Jordan was drafted to help us beat NE. And Jelani Jenkins to help cover their TE's.

We are still caught up in ideology and not facts. We just swapped one ideology for another, changing the big meaty size speed experience ratios of Parcells, for athleticism, hips, movement of Green Bay meshed with the search for acorns of Jeff Ireland. Still ideology, religion.
I wish we had management of the Steelers, people who let the tape decide, who get beast, great football players. That is the most disappointing thing to me over the past many years with our drafts.

Agreed, still not going to beat them 10-3, need to score slots of points also.

Definitely wish we would've gotten Poyer over Davis but all in all I'm not mad about this draft at all, which isn't something I can say about the last several drafts.

Through the cuts, signing and draft we have completely rebuild the line backing core. And it's athletic and fast.

It was not a "need" going into the offseason, but its nice it got done.

The "fourth wide receiver" is a combination of Dustin Keller and Rishard Matthews operating out of the slot. That position is covered.

I agree, but I worry a little about the chemistry of the unit. Had we kept the LB'rs intact, and simply added to the d-line, secondary, and Jenkins to the unit like we did, the defense is defeinitley top notch. We should be even better with the guys we signed in FA, but there is at least some uncertainty as to how they will perform, and work as a unit.

Honestly when people are saying we only added Wallace as a weapon in the off-season, they must be completely forgetting Keller. He is a damn good receiving threat at TE. A big upgrade over Fasano in that regard.
