2013 Rookie Uniform Numbers Released
By Jesse Agler on May 3, 2013 at 2:14 pm
The nine players drafted by the Miami Dolphins last week (as well as several undrafted players) will take the field for the first time today as the team begins a weekend rookie mini-camp.
One of the most-asked questions of this time of year is always What number is _________ wearing? and today weve got some answers.
Remember, though, that rookies sometimes change their numbers at the end of the preseason and so none of these are 100% official until Week 1 of the regular season in September (last year, Lamar Miller wore 44 all throughout camp and the preseason before switching to 26).
DE Dion Jordan: 95
CB Jamar Taylor: 22
OL Dallas Thomas: 70
CB Will Davis: 29
LB Jelani Jenkins: 43
TE Dion Sims: 80
RB Mike Gillislee: 35
K Caleb Sturgis: 9
CB Don Jones: 36
Best chance to make the roster are these: Bumphis WR, McCAbe ILB, Francis DT
PS = MArshall RB, Ogletree ILB, K. Johnson S, Sinkerfield WR and some OT, OG, DT, CB
Always liked Clay. Ogletree though also sticks out of those clips. Interesting LB battles shaping up.
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better. - S. Beckett
Even if that was his hand time, he doesn't play near that fast nor get the separation he should with that type of speed.
The guys i really like are McCabe and Clay. Both guys have a burst when they close. McCabe really stood out to me. Grant it, it's against lower level competition but he seems like a guy who could play special teams and add depth, maybe like a Trusnik.
As far as free UDFAs go I'm really excited about Michael Clay and AJ Francis. I liked Clay as much if not more than Kiko Alonso. He's a playmaker. And Francis has amazing quickness for a guy that size. I think they both make the team and contribute this year.
Round 1- Tyler Eifert
Round 2a- Justin Hunter
Round 2b- Brennan Williams
Round 3a- Brandon Jenkins
Round 3b- Bacarri Rambo
