And if you think Bailey or whoever is going to come in and best out Wallace, Hartline and Gibson then I just give up.

Don't think like a madden player, think like a GM of a real NFL team. We have two older corners (Patterson and Marshall) making $4m each a season. If we draft some young corners to replace them, we just saved a lot of money and got the team younger, faster and better.

we just saved $8 M in cap!

Drafting a WR would do none of that. zero. He would have little to no chance to beat out out top 3 if for no other reason, we just signed all three to large, long term contacts! ( you do not get that?)

What would Bailey do, take Jeff Fuller's spot?

Think like a GM, not a fan or madden player (and I say that as a big madden player)
Not so sure that's a good thing...

As for Bailey: Wallace, no. Hartline, possibly. Gibson, yes. Matthews, yes. Fuller, certainly. And Bailey wasn't the only option. We could have easily traded up a couple of spots and nabbed Allen at great value. Wheaton and Patton were also solid possibilities. I'd take any one of them and fully expect them to contribute this season over either of the 3rd round picks.

As for CB, love the Taylor pick and Grimes pickup in the offseason. Davis? Not so much.

One way to compare our receiving corp from last year to this year is actually to look at the depth chart:

    2012:
    1) Hartline
    2) Bess
    3) Naanu/Matthews/Moore/Binns
    4) NaanuMatthews/Moore/Binns
    5) Naanu/Matthews/Moore/Binns

    2013:
    1) Wallace
    2) Hartline
    3) Gibson
    4) Matthews
    5) Binns

When you look at it like this, we have upgraded ALL THE WAY AROUND. Yes, we lost Bess, but last season Bess was our #2 - our #2 this year is Hartline who IS the better receiver. We are better top to bottom at the position. Add to the fact that we upgraded the TE position (at least marginally) and we may not be the best WR unit in the NFL, but we should see a significant improvement.

It's amazing to me how much success people can derive by the additions of such NFL wonders as Gibson/Binns/Matthews. It's an upgrade by default. There's still so much to be proven on the field by these 3 it's not even funny.

We are better than last year... BUT just because we have improved on perhaps the worst set of starting WRs in the NFL last year does NOT mean that we are "solid."

Talent-wise, the only explosive playmaker at WR is Wallace. The rest are the same low-level talent as we had last year. Gibson = Bess 2.0. AND if Wallace goes down for some reason, we will face the EXACT same kinds of D that we faced in the latter part of the year. Because every other WR on the roster is a non-threat vertically. Ergo, not SOLID or DEEP talent-wise.

Just because we are now MIDDLE of the pack WR-wise, with the addition of Wallace, does not mean we are SOLID.

We have little of the sudden, explosive, versatile depth at WR that they are trying to build on the defensive side of the ball, for instance.

Unless, of course, someone like Sinkfield pulls a Clayton and becomes a difference maker on the field...

Anyone expecting us to go from worst to first at the WR position in one year is fooling themselves. All there needs to be said about that.

Do you think that maybe the Dolphins are not a well-rounded deep team and overpaid for some free agents? They remind me of the Jets about 3 years ago.

So what is the solution? Bring in rookies or more proven vets who don't play ST and cost more?

Our WR corp is not great, far from it, but it is a HUGE step-up from last year. It is foolish to think we would go from the worst WR group in the NFL to the best in one off-season. This isn't Madden.

The FO did address the position and DID improve it (including at TE, too). We won't be the best this year, but we will be improved. As long as they continue to improve the position I'm not sure how much more we can demand or expect.

Be a little more realistic. Find something else to complain about.
