I am pretty ambivalent towards Tebow.
He would do well do go to some CFL or Arena league team where he would be a demi-god yet have an unflinching position at Qb.
No NFL team will take him as a Qb unless it is a publicity stunt .The circus surrounding him is simply to distracting.
As for the Jets.
You must assume that buttfumble is next right?
The cap hit is better than the circus right?
If they start buttfumble then there will be a massive push to start Geno until it happens and if Geno struggles then buttfumble will be a constant distraction on the sideline.
The alternative is to save Geno the terror of having to play on an offense so devoid of weapons that he will simply get killed.
Run buttfumble for most of the year until you are out then put in Geno during the garbage point of the season and finally win the top pick trade down Rams style to a team that wants a qb and go all in on offense in the draft with a new coach.
Tebow could not handle the CFL or Arena League. CFL is 3 down, gotta be able to pass the ball early and often. Arena League, gotta be able to throw into tight windows.
I still think there's a chance the Jaguars give him a shot, because Blaine Gabbert SUCKS, but yeah, I think his NFL career as a QB is over. If someone can convince him to transition to H-Back he might be interesting there, especially as a goal line option, though.
Now I am become coach, the destroyer of teams.
My point about the CFL or Arena league is that he would be such an important marketing tool that his position on the team would be unquestioned. Therefore he could sit and slowly get better(if that is possible) then return to the NFL later in his career a la Flutie or Warner.
For example the Las Vegas Locomotives of the UFL which are coached by Jim Fassel.
Tebow in Vegas now that would be a story!
i would just cut buttfumble now, look towards the future.
I feel bad for Tebow.. he couldn't have joined a bigger circus, was jerked around by Woody, Rex and The Meatball and now has been released after all the QB positions were filled. Of course, the other side to that coin is apparently teams were permitted to contact him regarding positions other than QB and he got compensated very well for his troubles.
After the buttfumble-like pique and sulking going on in the green room, anyone who can't see that this circus is the absolutely worst place for Geno too, is looking at things through coke bottle thick lenses. Ironically, Henne, whose skill set was at the least comparable to The Buttfumbler's at least had the balls, and inner fortitude to professionally contend with NYJ pressure cooker.
