We finally got to see "Dallas Buyers Club." Excellent movie, very intense and uncomfortable. If I wasn't already convinced that Matthew McConoughey isn't today's premier actor of his time based on past work and confirmed by "True Detective," after watching his exhausting performance in this, there's absolutely no doubt in my mind.

That movie will not come close to Blazing Saddles...one Blazing Saddles was written by Mel Brooks and Richard Pryor, two of the greatest comedians of all time.

I think I'll hit up Dallas Buyers Club this weekend...I've been working my way thought the Oscar nominees....Have already hit up Wolf of Wall Street, Gravity, 12 years a slave, and Captain Phillips...

thx.... love lunching on cuban sandwiches at el Mason de Pepe, across from that goofy sculpted caricature cemetery. Missed Jimmy getting up on stage at his place by a day last time we were there. I forget the name of the bar, but they have reggae performers (one of my favorites) further on up Duval. My GF is pretty straight laced and sort of flipped out one time when we were sitting at the bar when a woman asked her to dance, LOL.

Maybe stop on the way in Islamarada at the Shrimp Shack on the way down for one of these bad (po)boys.

Looks yummy. I always liked the poolside bar behind Bud and Mary in Islamarada. There is a restaurant on the other side of US 1 where they would cook your catch for you. Cann't remember the name but it was bay side and on the water. Fun spot.

Remember to say hey to JJ.

    Lazy Days!

Chef Lupe is the man. We use to frequent that spot quite a bit some time ago. I believe it's an extension off of Mile Marker 88 restarant. Brought 'em our 250# swordfish (cleaned filets) once and he did wonders. Thx for the reminder. I really need to get back there soon as it's been waaay too long.
