I don't think they would have spent all that effort with KC just to motivate Martin, but they might have done all that to throw teams off of the fact that we coveted Dion Jordan. It's possible we wanted other teams to think we were desperate for a LT and that any trade up would be for one of the 3 elite LTs and not Jordan. They may be perfectly happy with Martin at LT, and just used a perception of need at the position to hide their real intentions. Of course we still need at least a RT.
honestly after watching irelands interview about the trade, i dont think the plan going into the draft was to trade up for jordan. I think that when we called just to see the price to move up and were blown away at how little we had to give up, then ireland had to do the trade.
