I do not think it will be Clabo. This is a threat to soften KC for Albert if I were to guess.

I like that Ireland is choosing carefully and didn't panic and rush to sign someone.

The best part of the Bryant McKinnie and Tyson Clabo visits is that it shows that the Dolphins understand that tackle is still an issue. They wanted to address the tackle position, haven't to this point but haven't just thrown up their arms and said we will let the young guys battle it out. Dallas Thomas is more of a guard and a likely 2014 replacement for Incognito, so it is nice that they don't seem to try and throw him into one of the tackle jobs.

The season doesnt start for 4 months, so we have plenty of time to find someone. Winston, Clabo and McKinnie arent old...all can have 4-5 good years left in them. Even if we do sign Winston, he can still be a good RT for us for 4 years. Clabo seems like the better RT, but Winston seems like the cheapest.

As for Branden Albert, thats just a smokescreen. No way does Miami want a guy like him. Ireland simply wants to push Martin to be the best he can possible be.

While we most likely will end up going with Martin at LT, you can't tell me we spent a ton of time, effort, etc. in negotiating a deal with KC on Albert just to motivate Martin going into this season. There's obviously some concerns there with Martin, but the alternatives have either been way too expensive ($ and picks) or just not that much better than trying the younger Martin.

whats the rush... not very many other team have shown interest in them and the longer this gets drawn out, the better chance we get OUR guy at OUR price

Really, the Dolphins understand that OT is still an issue? My God they're brilliant. My 3 year old God-daughter understands tackle is an issue.

Sign LT Clabo and RT Winston and let LT Martin earn the position. Frankly, Clabo is the better player. Martin looks like a project.

I don't think they would have spent all that effort with KC just to motivate Martin, but they might have done all that to throw teams off of the fact that we coveted Dion Jordan. It's possible we wanted other teams to think we were desperate for a LT and that any trade up would be for one of the 3 elite LTs and not Jordan. They may be perfectly happy with Martin at LT, and just used a perception of need at the position to hide their real intentions. Of course we still need at least a RT.
