I do think Davis was a bit of a reach.
That said, I don't mind the pick. I think we picked a good solid CB in Taylor in the 2nd and I think Davis was picked because of his high upside.
The tackling doesn't bother me as much as it does you. I believe aggressiveness in the run game can improve with improvement in his technique and hopefully he feels a sense of urgency to make this team.
I'm more worried about his consistency in coverage. There are times where he looks like a first round cover corner and other times he just looks lost. He also looked pretty bad in some of the senior bowl practices, although he did get a INT in the game.
Again, I thought he was a 4th to a 5th round guy, so I think it was a slight reach, but I like the pick more when paired with a good solid guy like Taylor. I think this was an upside pick with Ireland trying to get a big hit out of a late 3rd rounder.
Said it before, he is focused on the WR and didnt care much about lookiing for the run.
Strong points are hand skills at LOS, stay focused on his guy, reads the zone over the middle pretty good.
Bad points. Raw and played for smaller school.
upside. They can mold him.
He cant hide in the NFL.
But I will tell you this right now, he is a ton better at the LOS than Sean Smith ever was and will ever be.
This is correct. Should have gave him a 0. Good cover skills.
Block shedding : 1/10
-Damn he sucks a$$
