Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else ever cared.
LOL!!! I like how one of his friends couldn't resist the urge to yell "MY NIGGA!" halfway through the proposal.
Thats Hilarious! His boys seem pretty happy about heading to Miami haha
"We love you AJ.......we love you too Tasha"
maaaaaaan, this kid HAS to make the team!! I hope he turns into a DEAMON on the field!!
Good stuff. I hope it works out for the guy. We've had success with undrafted or low draft pick DT's over the years.
"I want guys who want to make an impact on and off the field. Good human beings. Guys who want to get better. Guys who want to improve. They want to be great, want to win. Those types of guys we can work with every day." --Joe Philbin

Joe Philbin says, "Jim Turner was a great coach. He made sure shoes were tied at all times and that no gum wrappers touched the field."
I really hadn't watched much on this kid. He has an interesting skill set.
First off let's look at what he ISN'T. He isn't a 3 down DT at this level. He plays WAAAY too high, shows no ability to gain and or maintain leverage. Relative easy to move in the run game, and stands no chance vs any double team.
Now for what he does well. He is a very creative one gap pass rushing DT. He has an effective knack for creating penatration, a very solid to above average first step, for a DT, and above average athletic abilty. His niche in the NFL will be as a 3rd and long DT, who can force double teams, freeing up DEs to beat one on ones.
I find it interesting at how many of the defensive players we drafted and signed as FAs all have one thing in common. They excel at 3rd abilities. This is totally different than the Parcells concept of win 1st and 2nd downs often enough and make the offense move the chains on 3rd down, hoping if you do it enough the offense will only get so many before having to punt. Philbin is much more proactive. In today's NFL 3rd down is the money down, and QBs and the aggressive passing game can consistently move down and score vs Parcell's old way of defending things. Philbin is fielding a much more flexible, aggressive defense. No longer are we going to sit back and HOPE the offense makes a mistake, now we are going to be able to go out and FORCE mistakes. Our defense won't be trying to absorb the punch, we will be the ones GIVING the punch!!! Exciting year to be a fin fan.
