If Ross already was in for 50 + % of the funding, why can't they do a 200 mill upgrade. Move the seats closer and update the lighting. No Canopy. Why wouldn't that be good enough for the NFL?

Ross has no one to blame but himself for the low ticket sales and bad ratings. He's put a crap product on the field since he bought the team.

The future looks bleak???. I would really like to know if Ross paid for all the renovations himself would he make or lose money? Or would he just not make as much money?

I have serious doubts that the stadium would be full for a playoff game.

RE: Mike Dee: "The future looks bleak."

All the people saying the team won't move are fooling themselves. No one is going to buy the team without at the very least the promise of a new stadium. Ross is also not going to destroy his family with a bad investment.

He can sell the land and lose money on it (rather than hurt his family) and then sell the team to someone that will have nothing to tie him to Miami. Even if the owner bought the stadium at worst he can shutter it up and move or even threaten that the canes won't have a home unless the city buys the stadium after their lease is up.

What happened in Tallahassee is the worst possible thing that could have happened. It is however Ross's fault. Once again hit short sightedness and arrogance have hurt this team.

Who would buy the stadium knowing that the Dolphins would be moving? No one who has enough money to buy the stadium would be dumb enough to fall for that deal.

Maybe, maybe not. Hard to predict what a future owner will do when we have no idea who he or she is. The fact that the renovation plan failed and the Dolphins are the only NFL team without a local lease puts all options on the table. Even if the odds of relocating is only 1%, that is 1% too much. The renovations and lease would have wiped out any idea of future relocation. Now it is a realistic worry.

It was in 2008. The game sold out in 3 hours.
