Dolphins owner Ross promises to give away most of his fortune to charity

I find this a little odd. If he is going to give away most of his wealth to charity, why in the H-E-DOUBLE CHOPSTICKS does he not fund the renovations on the stadium himself. I think the money would be far better put to use by providing the people of South Florida a communality, something to instill pride in the city. Rather than giving it to a charity were 90% of the money goes to administrative cost.
Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross pledged Tuesday to give away to charity the bulk of his estimated $4 billion fortune once he dies, joining a list of prominent billionaires in the so-called “giving pledge.”

In his message on the Giving Pledge website, Ross touted his upbringing in a middle-class Detroit neighborhood as teaching him the value of “giving back.” “I am delighted, grateful and honored to join this important effort in the hope that collectively we can leave the world a little bit better place than we found it,’’ wrote Ross, who turns 73 on Friday.
"It happens all the time," Taylor said. "It's not an exact science and personnel guys aren't the end-all, be-all. " Jason Taylor,2011

He is doing this when he dies, he won't be the owner of the Dolphins at that point.

So why does he not do some good now while his living? Or is this just a tax dodge.

He is joining other billionaires like bill gates and Warren buffet who are promising to donate the bulk of their fortune to charity.

Don't get why billionaires would wait till they die to donate. Think of how many issues could be taken care of if they all donate a little now!

Are you knocking the guy because he's pledged his fortune to charity when he dies?

The Giving Pledge is actually a trending group, and I'm not sure you can expect what someone promises to do with their money postmortem to have any reflection on how he will spend his money in a business transaction.

propaganda for mike dees "bleek future" statements and Ross welfare for billionaire stance..
This guys talk too much to much posturing... They should have planned out the renovations years in advance..
I think it funny they paid millions of dollars on commercials before seeing if they could change the law to get it on ballet...
Talk about cart before the horse!

I wonder what Ross could do that he wouldn't get bashed for at this point.
God bless, I'll hang up and listen.
