Then why the schoolyard rant lol
When Death Smiles Upon You the Infantryman smiles back

    WVdolphan "Ireland gets it.
And those who also get it, know that Ireland gets it. Those who are clueless are still concerned about cornfed and the running game"

WVDOLPHAN "The last thing this team should be worried about is the OC(offensive corn). When you add it all up, its really a pretty solid OC"

I think it served it's purpose. Now in peoples mind if they don't vote how the Fins want they may lose their beloved Dolphins.
Even people down on the team now that don't go to games want to keep the team here. Just the implied threat might cause those not hanging on this issue to pay attention and support it.

Either that or they were just venting

Yea, that schoolyard rant was brilliant. Nothing like publically threatening the man who will decide whether or not your bill gets heard in next year's session to ensure your access to the public trough. Ross and Dee need to make a very public apology for their rant, go to Wesley Chapel, get on their knees, and do some serious a** kissing if they expect their proposal ever to see the light of day any time soon. They might also want to look at the Herald from last weekend to find out the names of the other Republican gatekeepers who they chose to ignore in their arrogant ill-fated attempt to maneuver through the process. Firing their current advisors on politics and hiring replacements who have ties to the State Republican party might not hurt as well.

There is no need for this. The bill included funding for a lot of other sports and they are all going to want it back. The reality is that public money has been given to the Jags, the Bucs, the Marlins and the Heat. There is no genuine justification for excluding the Dolphins, and both the Jags and the Bucs are going to want funds soonish to upgrade their stadiums, so the pressure is eventually going to push this bill back onto the agenda. Sucking up to politicians is never a good idea - once Miami loses Superbowls 50 and 51 the pressure will be back on the Legislature.

we wasnt geting 50 no matter what. As for the bucs they got money from local tax hike. They also are not paying for two other stadiums locally
Still need to get your point across to the people you need to convince. I mean if u want to just raise local taxes u dont need the senate or house

Not sure I understand the difference. The Fins wanted two taxes - the local hotel tax (which only applied in Miami-Dade) and the sales tax exemptions (which every other team already has). So why is this different to what the other teams did?

Every other team doesnt have a sales tax exemption. The bucs have an actual raised tax in their county. The fins want the state to change the laws on a bed tax which is capped at 6 percent. Tampa raised taxes 1/2 a cent which I think is bs because that means football fan or not u were supporting their stadium. The fins get one tax rebate for marlins playing in stadium and fitting for baseball. The Dolphins want another 3 million per year on top of the one they have.

In the interview with Omar Kelly, I think State senator Oscar Braynon said that every major league team takes advantage of the sales tax exemption already, and that the Dolphins never applied for themselves - it was the Marlins that applied to get the stadium converted to baseball, although I assume that the ongoing benefit applies to the stadium still. Seems to me that a bed tax for tourists is fairer than Tampa increasing local taxes for everyone, or Jacksonville taking on a large city loan.

All I am saying is that if all the other teams got public money, the Dolphins are going to have to get it sooner or later.
