Ireland Passes The Torch To Philbin & Coaches

No matter what you have thought in the past, no one is questioning what Irish has done this off season. The only question I see is if everything he has done is good or great.

This will be up to Philbin & Co. to see what they will do with the acquired talent, and not on Ireland. IF they do well, he may well be the Exec Of The Year. IF not, he cannot be faulted.

So if these guys all turn out to be the second coming of Egnew it's Philbin's fault??? Give me a break. Philbin has proven over time that he can coach. Ireland has yet to prove that he can be a competent GM.

Why the hate? Ireland did well this off season. Give credit when credit is due. We all trashed him the last few years, this year he did the best he can.
You can't have it both ways.

Yes you can have it both ways, look no further than the teams that are contending for superbowls. If we're not contending for superbowls then Ireland didn't do his job. PERIOD.

As a 1st year HC, Philbin has proven nothing. I believe he will, and this is his opportunity. If ya wanna use proven as an OC, Cam did a better job before he came here as HC. This is not a knock on Philbin, as I do believe.

When has Philbin proven he can coach exactly? Answer he he hasn't yet. SB2 hit the nail on the head. Irish made some good moves this offseason and Philbin has been a part of each and every one of those moves. At some point the burden of winning is going to fall squarely on his shoulders.

Thanks LS. No idea why the negative stuff has been posted here. Coaches have to develop talent, that's what they get paid to do.

Philbin has won a Super Bowl as an OC. Ireland hasn't seen the playoffs in so long that he has forgotten that there are playoffs.

You mean he game plan the two weeks leading to the Superbowl, since Mc Carthy called the plays. And there was this guy name Aaron Rodgers, and a Packers Defensive that #2 In scoring defense in the league, but of course to bash Ireland, you can make **** up, throw it out there as if it's reality.

When Ireland had a qb just half as good as Rodgers, division champs. Yeah he missed on Henne, in return set us back 4 years. That's cool, let's see what the next four years bring since that's guaranteed to come forward, while the last 5 years, is guaranteed to remain in the past..

And guess what?? the 2013 season is GOING TO HAPPEN and the GM that will be in control watching it; is JEFF ****ING IRELAND. I know that must really pain you ****ing haters...

It is reality that Philbin won a Super Bowl as an Offensive Coordinator, just like it is reality that Jeff Ireland was the Dolphin's General Manager when Henne was drafted. In the real world, unlike the Ross Dolphins bizzaro world, that kind of mistake costs you your job as GM. But in the real world owners give a damn about winning every now and then. When your owner's first priority is to steal four hundred million dollars out of the public treasury so he can die with a net worth of five billions, it is not surprising that he does give a damn about the win-loss record.
