You're great bro, but I have to disagree with you on this one.
As a team we finished 6th in scoring defense and in the lower 20'so in scoring offense. We have a young talented QB around whom we need to build. We had the 3rd most money in free agency and 5 picks in the top 82. That's a LOT of resources to address a lot of areas.
We added 1 marquee receiver, Wallace, and I give Ireland high marks for.that. But, we lost our good LT and replaced him with a RT. We treaded water with all of our other offensive moves. We spent approximately the same amount on offense and defense in free agency, and used 1 of those high draft picks on a backup OL, passed up tons of weapons for Tannehill as we poured tons of high draft picks into defense.
Offense wins in today's NFL.
When you have a talented young QB, you build around him
After spending all that money and using all those picks, I only see one major improvement in our offensive personnel, Mike Wallace. IMHO, that's not good enough.

"I want guys who want to make an impact on and off the field. Good human beings. Guys who want to get better. Guys who want to improve. They want to be great, want to win. Those types of guys we can work with every day." --Joe Philbin
- Defending the Read Option - What do you think?
Mike Wallace was Ireland's hidden pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?
Playoffs this year. Coach of the year + exec of the year.
Ireland left a LOT of good OFFENSIVE talent on the floor this offseason. Yes, we picked up Wallace, but signed slowfeet WRs at the 2 and 3 -- all important positions in today's NFL.
He pissed around w. Jake Long and left a huge hole at LT. Nice amount of OT available... but nope.
He messed around and let Martellus Bennett slip through his fingers at TE [best available all-around TE] and had to settle for Keller.
He signed Gibson [basically as slow as Bess] instead of any number of more talented WRs -- and don't get me started on the WRs he didn't sniff in the draft. Lots of talent there...
On DEFENSE he seemed to value speed and explosion and skill. On offense, Miami is left w. question marks at OL and a very low-level WR corps apart from Wallace [unless some of our UDFAs step up].
Lots of changes to the Phins team but would'a could'a should'a on upgrading offense to championship caliber.
Hopefully the D can win games this year because the O still has to overcome weaknesses of non-talent at key positions.
Ireland could have done much better even though... I give him credit for TRYING this offseason. Hopefully he'll someday add the same explosion and talent on offense that he tried to add on D.

No Wallace was one piece of the puzzle that everybody was screaming for.
