I could see a coaching internship coming out of this. I really thought Pennington would be a high school coach by now.

That would be the Patriots starting QB...

I get what your saying. Pennington was great at reading what the defense was going to do and therefore took what they gave him, which was normally an underneath route because he didn't have the arm strength to thread the needle when it was warranted. I just don't want that mentality being imposed on an impressionable younger player. I want the QB to dictate the game by looking at the defenses weakness and then attack it, not take what they are giving him.

I guess I see Penninton as a little angel sitting on Tanny's shoulder always telling him to play it safe and to try not to do anything to lose the game (why Sparano loved him) and a gunslinger, like Marino, as the little Devil sitting on Tanny's shoulder telling him, look at that hole in the defense over the top, it's single coverage, you can make that throw, go for it. Having both attributes would be ideal but to me I want one who listens to the devil more than the angel.
When I die I want to hire the Miami Dolphin's to be my pallbearers so they can let me down one last time.

I always thought he would have a QB coaching school.

Lol. Idk, marino has given advice to past dolphins QBs, and the most he ever really said was... "just wing it." that's it. marino's done coaching for the day.
"I didn't feel like we had to score," Tannehill said. "I had the mindset we were going to score."

Love it, I would like to think Marino has been working with Tannehill as well. I know Griese has done a lot of film work with him.

On the other hand Pennington was working with the Jets QB's last year and that went well

It makes perfect sense for Pennington to "break" into coaching.
