Draft All but 2 of Miami's 2013 draft picks were on the Cowboy's draft board.

I find it interesting that all but 2 of Miami's 2013 draft picks were on the Cowboy's draft board:

Not sure whether this is reassuring or not, but I kind of like it. Interesting, too, how they had these players valued.

Only two not on their radar were Caleb Sturgis and Jelani Jenkins.

What is really strange is that they didnt even follow their own board. Im wondering if that wasnt that final board.

I'd disagree, from what I've read they mostly followed their own board, and if they had completely followed their own board, they would've drafted a QB, which they didn't want to do, and they wanted a running back which they did draft.

That's a good observation and a good question. They have received a lot of criticism about their draft this year, so maybe they were just unlucky with how the players they wanted were not falling to them.

They were on the board, but they also indicate we over-drafted several of the players...Sims appears to be a good value though based on their board.

Yea thats what I'm referring to - they had QB's on a very thin board which leads me to believe they considered taking them. Dallas only had 40 players on their board for the first 64 draft picks, and 3 of those 40 were QBs. If you have no intention of taking someone even if they fall, then just take him off your board?

This actually makes me feel slightly better about the Will Davis pick.

I don't think there is that much of a difference between most team's boards, but every team has different needs, and sometimes your board can get totally messed up, like when we moved up to take Dion Jordan. I heard that the Eagles really wanted Jordan as the Iggs new coach came from Oregon. Stuff happens, and when you are on the clock, the time goes pretty quickly.

you rank players you're likely to take, and QBs are a good bargaining tool for trading down and getting picks, in fact I bet some players on their board would've been trade bait.
