The funny thing is until this ranking most on here claimed only Jaws and Dilfer are te source they believe when evaluating QBs. Tannehill was a rookie playing on a mediocre to bad team and put up pedestrian numbers especially when compared to the other rookie starters. It's year 2 and he has a lot more weapons so here's to hoping he makes huge gains.
The above post is not subject to penalty under the TOS I declare the Hayden Fox defense. " It is impossible for the staff to know my context therefore I cannot be penalized"

I do like jaws and differ...which is why I'm surprised where jaws had him...but I guess I can also see why these guys may not want to put themselves out there too early on some one...

Anyways the concern I have for tanny is all this lots of weapons stuff and expectations as a result...mike Wallace is a legit addition...Keller is better than what we had last year but nothing special...other than that I don't see these so called weapons...I do see a lot of money spent though
hoops scoops 2012 season ..."in 2014 ryan tannehill etches his name in stone amongst the games elite qbs"..."ryan tannehill and andrew luck will carry the afc for the next decade plus the way peyton manning and tom brady have this last decade plus"

Sam Bradford was ranked #22 with Josh Freeman coming in at #21.

Certain guys stock are on the rise while others are falling fast.

    Absurd to say the least.
Why? What the hell has Palmer done lately. He really isn't very good.

I think 24th is fair enough. In terms of talking about additional weapons and making a leap as a result that isn't ranking the QB's ability, it is ranking the results of an improved supporting cast, I hope Tannehill does improve on things like 3rd downs and interceptions as a result not just of a better cast around him, but of him improving as a QB too.

Accurate ranking for last year. Anyone who says it isn't is delusional.
"Coach Sparano assured us at the beginning of the week, they win the turnover battle, they win the game," guard Richie Incognito said. "And we went out there, turned the ball over."

Alex Smith rounds off at #20 with Andy Dalton being ranked before him at #19 on Jaws QB list.

It's amazing how many of these guys Ryan Tannehill has already beaten.

Cincis gonna be questioning Andy dalton as a get you over the hump qb pretty soon...josh freeman is on as thin ice as any qb in 2013...Tampa is real close to movin on...Alex smith doesn't make the mistakes that beat you unlike many qbs in this league and many of the guys in the top 20 evidently do ie Philip rivers, Matt stafford, jay cutler, tony romo..but he's also not a jump on my back and I will carry you qb either...tannehills decision making in year 1 even was better than any of em...

What separates the really high end qbs from the rest is they don't take you out of games with awful decision making or forcing things and the have the ability to make you pay when u make a mistake...Tannys as gifted as any of em and he will keep us in games and win em

I would rank him somewhere between 15-19, and put him higher if he had some better weapons. I think Wallace will help his stats and overall game, but it's still a team game and Tanny hasn't had the pieces around him to give him the elite status....but I would still take him over a lot of over-hyped young QB's. Jaws does a pretty decent job in evaluating talent, but he should list Tannehill higher.
He may be slurping some other cool-aid, but he's about the best talking head out there in terms of evaluating QBs...if not THE best, probably better than most scouts...It's not like many of these other guys that come on to media shows and talk about the good and bad of every player, he sticks to QBs and he's a he!! of a sight better than most of us... Again if you listened to what he actually said, he said that he fully expects Tanny to take the big leap and be one of the better QBs by season's end. This ranking was based on last years' play and is pretty close to where he actually is... I might disagree with one or two (already see that he's got Dalton better than Tanny, I might have an issue with that), but he's usually pretty spot on in his evaluation of these guys actual game tape...

Yeah, I question Dalton, he just looks like he's at his peak. Freeman wasn't very good last year, but I think he's got some growing to do...he's had poor coaching and poor surrounding team. Smith is only as good as the cast around him. Sure, he looked really good in SF last year before he was dumped mainly because he had a heck of a team around him, all the pieces there...Run game, Defense, STs, Coaching...it all fit...will he have the same in KC ?? I don't know, I think the real Alex Smith shows up this season...

Not sure about the lack of love for Romo...he's a very, very good QB and if you watch Dallas games, HE's carried that team...Cutler is more hype than substance but he's also very streaky and has a bazooka for a throwing arm. Stafford has been mired in crap talent and poor coaching, we'll have to see about him this year. I remember that McNair was so-so for a couple of years under Fisher until he got the right pieces around him...hopefully Stafford is the same, but he's a quality guy...

No matter how you look at it, isn't it nice to have our QB NOT be #31 or #32 ??
