This. We were a LOT closer to winning that game than we were against the 9ers.

And we would never have to see or hear from joe theismann again for all time.

Would have loved to see Marino play in multiple superbowls but without a doubt I would change the outcome of his oly superbowl appearance.

    Marino a ring
    winning 17-0 in a 17-0 undefeated season
Make the int in 82 we had it and let it slip away
Get back to the SB in 85 to beat the bears again, and ring for Marino
Draft a super star running back. Sanders
Score a TD in 94 so you don't have to rely on Pete. Man that sucked
Better back up QB in 02. Really felt like it was our time.
Marino's last game not in Jacksonville
    No ****ing porn Stach
No olavidotti, he sucked so bad.
Scott and Foley not getting hurt in sea of hands, and knock that pass out from stabler
Keeping our team together and not losing them to the WFL
We would have been better than anyone in the 70's hands down

Agreed, all day long. We were on a great path at that point. The team Jimmy Johnson had built was coming together, as was evident in the successful years we had, even with Wanny as coach. This move is the one that has the most far-reaching effects to the present day. Without Wanny, maybe our talent evaluator who is NOT RICK SPIELMAN drafts Brees. We never miss out on Brees, we never hire Saban or Cam Cameron, or Bill Parcells. Important as well, New England actually has a team in the AFC East that can stand up to them just as their dynasty begins.

Things like the sea of hands, Super Bowl XIX, those are outcomes dependent on many people working together to alter an outcome. All we had to do is say NO to the Stache. Hire ANYONE but him or Norv Turner and we could have been in the Super Bowl. The talent on the 99-02 teams was staggering.
Contending is for people who are ok with losing. I do not want to contend, I want to dominate.

There are so many already listed that I agree with, but I'll add a couple that haven't been mentioned yet. In 1983 having starting LB Larry Gordon pass away and in 1984 losing David Overstreet to a car accident. Both were significant losses to the team. The Dolphins still rushed for 1,900 yeards in 1984 but it was RB by commitee and at 4.0 ypc. I just think his loss get's overlooked because the offense was still so potent without him, but had they had him.....would have been more fun...

Tough question. I've often wondered if Miami wins another title if the World Football League doesn't sign Larry Csonka, Jim Kiick and Paul Warfield following the 1974 season. With that talent still at hand, the Dolphins could have perhaps built a long-term dynasty. As an example, instead of trying to replace those players Miami could have drafted differently.

Some others that come to mind would be drafting Randy Moss rather than trading down prior to the draft. Can you imagine Dan Marino with Randy Moss? Drew Brees over Jamar Fletcher I believe was already mentioned.
