Ryan Tannehill can't remain NFL's worst QB on third downs

Ryan Tannehill's supporters have plenty of excuses for why he was a bottom-tier starting quarterback in the NFL last season.
Tannehill was a rookie with 20 college starts at Texas A&M.
Tannehill needed to become familiar with the speed of the NFL game.

Tannehill didn't have the best weapons around him as a rookie.
The Dolphins didn't allow Tannehill to throw many passes in the red zone.

A rookie NFL QB who didn't have a great year...who knew?!?
I just try to be myself, whatever that is. I don't think about how I'll be remembered. I just want to be consistent over a long period of time. That's what the great players do.

Damn. If somebody hadn't put together that video, maybe the INTs would have never happened. Really harshes my training camp mellow.
I'm giving you a choice: either put on these glasses or start eatin' that trash can.

In the case of a rookie QB, I don't look at the entire final seasons stats to evalute him. I more interested in the progress he shows and whether he got better and better as his experience grew.

I feel he got better later in the season, so to call him the 27th ranked QB may be technically accurate, it does not tell the story of where he is at.

I believe you also have to factor in the poor receiving corp he had around him last year as well.

Fiedler did not have the arm strength of Tannehill, but overall he was a much better QB."

Attack the Person, Not the Ideas:

Attack the person in some way. For example:
    • Attack their expertise, questioning their qualifications or experience
    • Comment on their inability to make a good argument
    • Attach them to discredited others

    Example

You are not qualified to make such a statement.
You would say that, wouldn't you.
And who do you think is going to believe you.

Attacking the Person is a form of distraction, forcing them into defense and away from their argument.

Looking at the video I am reminded of the number of RT's interceptions that were tipped balls, the receiver didn't fight for the ball, potentially ran the wrong route, or fell down. The INT's will go down this year if for no other reason than we'll have a better receiving corps.
