Yeah, when you lose a guy like Keller, you're either gonna mortgage the future or surrender the present. Methinks this 2013 squad has some potential and is worth weakening our 2014 draft a bit to save. Besides, if we trade a pick for a player now, it's one less pick Ireland can waste next year.

If take a quality veteran, and a high draft choice rookie, that rookie, in his first year, is probably gonna be only 80% as good as the quality veteran (in comparable position and role) until he gets experience. You're hoping that maybe the rookie you drafted can eventually be a more productive player than the veteran you're replacing, but it's not guaranteed. Controlling the money is really where you benefit from going with the drafted player. BUT..if you're a team in a window, AND you have the money now to do it...then that veteran is worth WAY more than the draft pick, IMO.

Ireland: SPEND THE DRAFT PICK, GET US A QUALITY TE, STAT!

Gibson is. He had a big drop tonight in the end zone, but it's not like he's know for dropping the ball. He caught a TD after.

Either one. Both are about the worst things that can happen. Right up there with reading a Strangeworld post.

Bring in Jeremy Shockey, alge crumpler, mike turner etc... Let th grow , give him the opportunity to succeed. Bring in more vets. Nate Washington might get cut, bring him in. Offense needs more weapons
