I havent seen anyone support Obamacare, most just understand its here to stay. We understand universal health care was an issue that was decided during the '08 election, we understand Obamacare was decided when the Supreme Court ruled, and we understand the nail was in the coffin after the '12 election. Who in there right mind realistically thinks the Senate and White House would sign off on defunding it? Who thinks that is even a remote possibility? Come on.

Whatever the GOP think of Obamacare(thats a real puzzle), its utterly absurd to think the public wont blame them when the government shuts down. Its tactics of idiots. Im not even going to bitch about how this will hurt the country, im just focusing on the bottom line: government shuts down, GOP will be hurt. Badly. And if the House thinks otherwise(which they clearly do) they are idiots.

One thing I will say is this.....60% of the country thinks the government has WAY too much power. Even more than that feels the country is heading in the wrong direction. Government shutting down might not have the negative effects you think. It might even get an applause.

Forcing people to use the little leave they have is negative no matter how you slice it. That doesn't even take into effect the ones who don't get paid time off.

Yeah I wonder if that 60% or D9954 would like to help me buy food for my family or pay my monthly utilities while my wife is working unpaid? My paycheck covers our mortgage and the kids' daycare, while my wife's covers everything else. For the first time in many years we actually have a credit card with an outstanding balance because we put our groceries on a card yesterday just in case the government shuts down. The government shutting down is in NO WAY a good thing for anyone in this country. And if you think it might be then you're mistaken and if you think it will be then you're delusional.

Moderate House Republicans who want to fund the government with no strings attached are working to line up votes against a House GOP plan to renew federal coffers while chipping away at Obamacare, multiple GOP sources involved in the effort tell CNN.

Rep. Charlie Dent, R-Pennsylvania, Rep. Peter King, R-New York, and others are feverishly making calls to stage what would effectively be a revolt.

They say they are hoping there are enough GOP members like them who are fed up with the tactics of the leadership that they can find enough votes to defeat the first procedural measure, known as the rule.

That would prevent the House GOP leadership from even bringing their plan up at all.

Given the makeup of the GOP caucus, these House Republican moderates would need in the ballpark of 20 Republicans to agree to defy their leadership, and be willing to face what will undoubtedly be the wrath of the conservative grassroots.

Believe the vote is taking place at 7:45 est, for those interested.

Moderate House Republicans who wanted to fund the government with no strings attached failed to line up votes against a House GOP plan to renew federal coffers while chipping away at Obamacare...

That would have prevented the House GOP leadership from even bringing their plan up at all. Because the moderate Republicans failed to generate enough support, the broader GOP bill that includes anti-Obamacare provisions will now go to a final vote.

Given the makeup of the GOP caucus, the House Republican moderates needed 17 Republicans to agree to defy their leadership, and be willing to face what will undoubtedly be the wrath of the conservative grassroots.

So they sent another plan to the Senate who quickly killed it...

Why do they insist on replaying the election in which Obamacare was the main issue and they lost?
