I guess Ron Paul is experiencing the early stages of Alzheimers. Otherwise he'd remember that the original form of the healthcare bill had a public option that would have started us along the path to a Canada-style healthcare system. Obama tried to be bipartisan and got input from Republicans when he should have just forced it through. But hey, let's not let facts get in the way of an agenda here...

If I could take your pain and frame it, and hang it on my wall,
maybe you would never have to hurt again...

    Definitely.
But if Obama would have gotten his way it definitely would have not made Paul and his groupies happy. Remember that Paul wants it worse than it was before and would let people die.

I'm not sure that's fair to say. It's an opinion as to if it would be worse. Ron Paul follows Ayn Rand's philosophy of doing nothing to help someone at the detriment to yourself. While I think that's inhumane and selfish, others see merit in earning everything you have and taking nothing from anyone. Though I have no problems saying that those who believe that would never admit to how much help they themselves have received...

Libertarianism works just fine as long as people are willing to look the other way at the suffering of other people. Have a heart attack and don't have coverage? I'm sorry, but you should have thought of that ahead of time. Get old and sort of infirm and aren't able to work? Hopefully you have savings, otherwise you might become homeless.

Turns out people don't have that in them. They're not that heartless. Likewise they're not as altruistic as socialism needs them to be. I mean, there's nothing wrong with socialism as a theory. It works. Except that it doesn't account for selfishness or greed or competitiveness. It assumes those are byproducts of capitalism, rather than inherent traits. A minor detail.
I'm giving you a choice: either put on these glasses or start eatin' that trash can.

Just the usual liberal rhetoric. Their parents are obviously wards of the government.
IMHO..These shut downs are just the temporary simulations of the permanent shutdown that will likely occur in a few years.
The tipping point(Obama care) has already passed. It cannot be funded. It is just a matter of time before the US economy/dollar crashes and another currency emerges.
    Anyone disagree?

Attack the messenger with a valid point, haven't seen that one. Obamacare is a corporatist sh**burger plain and simple. Save me the Obama is the victim excuse. It's still mandated health insurance and subsidized healthcare even with the public option. And he signed it into law by the way. The funny thing to me is that the "affordability" relies on the government paying the difference for those that can't afford it. Meaning the government (taxpayers) will be writing checks directly to the health insurance and drug companies. How exactly will that give them the incentive to lower costs??
