Robinson Cano agrees to $240 million deal with Mariners

As of this morning the New York Daily News was reporting that the Mariners were no longer negotiating with Robinson Cano because of Jay Zís attempts to raise the second basemanís price tag at the last minute.

Dumb move on Seattle's part if you ask me.

Don't get how it is a dumb move on Seattle's part. They are not a team that players clamor to go to, so they would have to offer more money than other teams to try and persuade someone to come there.

I am surprised Cano ended going to Seattle. Apparently he does not care about winning games anytime soon. With a division that already has Texas, LA, and Oakland, there is a good chance Seattle finishes last again. Money is more important than winning to some players, and this is a prime example of it.

I just don't think he's worth that type of contract on any team. I'm not sure about their pay role but to waste all that money on one player? IMO, he's not a player that "fills up" seats.
