Yeah, I cheer for the whalers. What a bunch of idiots trying to shut down their ship...they are pirates as far as I am concerned.

I don't really cheer "For" whaling, as I think it's a pretty outlandish
    and outdated practice..........However.......

I would go along with what I believe GoonBoss implied, neither.

As for the sides, links for thread for those unaware to what drives sides...

This history is an important part of why the Japanese continue to hunt whales. Attempts to stop the nation's whaling are perceived by many as a threat to Japanese culture. According to its defenders, eating whale meat is an old and impenetrable Japanese tradition. "No one has the right to criticize the food culture of another people," said Matayuki Komatsu of Japan's Fisheries Agency.

A sense of pride also fuels Japan's commitment to whaling. To some, the words and actions of those who oppose Japanese whaling are "culturally arrogant" and unnecessarily harsh. This only serves to strengthen the country's resolve to maintain its whaling, according to some.
What might be similar for the USA? Hot dogs and bacon? Steak?

Whales and dolphins are so intelligent they deserve same rights as humans, say experts

Marine biologists and philosophers have joined forces to support a controversial declaration of rights for whales and dolphins on the grounds that their astonishing intelligence and emotional empathy puts them on a par with humans.

It sad that people make light of such situation.

Whales are not fish. They are like Dolphins mammals and are warm blooded. Unlike fish they do feel pain.
It might be a tradition in Japan but there are definitely gentler methods to kill a whale rather than the slaughter Japanese whalers do - in the name of science which we all know is to circumvent regulations.

I certainly would put myself between a whaler boat and its target nor would I attack a whaler boat. I would do it better.
I would visit the whalers families while the whalers are at sea ram a harpoon through their wives noses, skin them alive and carve their flesh off while alive and feed them to the wolves. Of course I would tape all that with the headline: Just because whales don't cry doesn't mean they don't feel pain.

There would be one difference: humans are not under threat of extinction. I would actually contribute to reduce over population.

lighten up francis. Making light of whale killing here on a messageboard forum has about as much effect on whaling as taking a dump in the toilet has on your shoe size.

    Francis is lighten up.
Actually it was a general comment on the subject and more a smack towards those in power to make changes. That's why I did not quote anybody.
