GM Rosenthal: Philbin to become Phins GM

    Well this should be interesting.

Joe Philbin is getting more power in Miami. According to sources familiar with the situation, Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has opted to give his Head Coach full control of the teams personnel decisions.

"The new General Manager will have autonomous responsibility for the 53 man roster and selecting players during the draft and will report to me." Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross said in a statement a week ago. "Regardless of reporting structure, the relationship between the General Manager and Coach Philbin must be one of trust."

Ross issued this statement on January 9th, and while it was supposed to reassure fans of the General Manager's responsibility, it seems he had his General Manager in house the entire time, and felt Philbin had the best football mind out of all the interviews. Ross had narrowed his choice between Farmer and Philbin earlier in the week

If this is true, EFF this team! What a farce! Philbin can barely handle game days, and now he is in charge of everything?? I didn't think it was possible, but things actually got WORSE by firing Ireland.

I will guarantee that the first Failbin draft will be markedly worse than any Ireland draft.

I hope Ross gets dimentia soon so we can begin to wipe his slime away from this team. We are truly doomed until he is gone

    Wait, what ?

Philbin will be GM and HC ? Is that what this is saying ?

If this is true, it strikes me that Ross is covering all bases. It goes one of two ways.....

    1. It works. Ross is a genius and Philbin remains in charge of everything and is responsible for all personnel/coaching calls. Isn't this like Belichick in NE ?

    2. It doesn't work and Ross fires Philbin and the organisation is then ripe for a full house cleaning with new incoming GM, HC, OC, DC etc.

If this is true then the only chance for the Dolphins to be good is for Ross to just frigging die lol.
I don't buy this story but if true OMG we have a horrible owner
