Surprise, Surprise: "coincidentally" a day after being indicted, he married his victim and now she wants the charges dropped. If it works (which I doubt), in retrospect, would an engagement ring have gotten Incog off the hook with Jona?

Incognito is a piece of ****. The fact that Ray Rice is a bigger piece of **** doesn't change that.

Now that we have the inevitable and nonsensical incognito situation comparison out of the way, I'll never understand why the abused are allowed to drop charges, particularly when there is such solid evidence that an assault took place.

    Au contraire (physician heal thyself)

In what I term "linkage," it just might matter that Rice is a bigger POS, his offenses more egregious (on the relative scumbag scale) in the context of locker-room "bullies" Pouncey, Incog, Jerry being psychologically evaluated as a precondition for re-entry but the bigger POS who assaulted his own fiancee with such raging force, regardless of how the legal process plays out, turns out to be welcomed back into the league without any pre-qualifying psych eval. However, then again, there's Ndomikin Suh who used the field of play to assault, on several occasions viciously not 1, 2, 3 ..but SIX opponents whom the league obviously saw no benefit in having this unregulated self-governing rage filled player also get confidently cleared by the shrinks to play with no risk to endangering his opponents, let alone suspended.

So yeah, a POS is a POS whether it's Incog, Rice or Suh among many others, but when it comes to "linkage" what should be good for the geese should also be good for the ganders, don't you agree?

We still don't know how the ravens or the league will respond to ray rice or even incognito for that matter. I'm pretty confident that if he hadn't had his little meltdown on his car and subsequent treatment, he'd likely be on a team by now. Granted, being kicked off of damn near every team doesn't help his case, nor does the fact that he clearly is a huge disruption in the locker room. As far as I know, rice doesn't have a history and he wasn't a FA. That is also key. If he were, this would certainly impact it as incognito's situation had hit him.

Another factor, as unfair as some may see it, is talent. Ray Rice and Suh are both amongst the top in their position, leading teams to be willing to take the risk. Incognito? Not so much. That guy gained more "talent" in the clouded eyes of those who despise Martin than most players do over their entire careers. He's an average guard at best, below average when you factor in his penalties and ****ty leadership.

So, yeah, not really comparable, especially at this point. Contrary to popular belief around here, the league doesn't have it out for the Phins.

So let's take Incog off the table and compare both Jerry and Pouncey's "offenses" to the violent, now indictable uncontrolled rage attack on a woman's person by Rice and the six, (not 1 2 or 3) uncontrolled rage-filled attacks Suh rained down on innocent opponents.

To the best of my knowledge, unlike Rice and Suh (not to mention the legion of innocents-endangering DUI- arrested players denoting potential vehicular homicide (as highlighted in PFT's "Police Blotter"), neither Jerry nor Pouncey have been arrested for dangerous or anti-social behavior nor have they demonstrated any rage-filled animosity on the playing field. Again "linkage:" If DUI arrested players, felony-assaulting players, and heavily fined dirty onfield players are allowed to continue in the league as "business as usual" then there's absolutely no rationale that these two Fins players with no offenses, infractions or criminal charges should have to submit to the dog and pony show charade that most of their peers realize are merely a tempest in a teapot. It's all for show.

And I've said this time and again, but I believe the league stacked the deck against the Fins for the greater publicity-good once the Martin camp got the media hyenas (most of them hypocrites and former team cancers themselves) with selectively inflammatory racist texts purposely extracted out of 1000s. I called for a cross-section committee of former NFL execs, players, mediators, lawyers, etc with equal input instead of an "investigation" spearheaded by an appointed gentleman - not so coincidentally sharing common ethnicity, profession, age-contemporary, and educational overlaps with the "victimized's" family. Out of the myriad of individuals Goodell could have appointed, am I the only one who thinks this was by design?

Have either one of them been punished in any way outside of having their douchebag ways exposed in public? Rice is facing jail time and likely suspension. Jerry and Pouncey faced being signed by another team as if nothing happened and backed by the Phins staff 100%, respectively. Poor babies.

If you buy into the need for either P or J to earn their way back into active player status on the basis of questionable "findings", yet conversely do NOT see the need for demonstrably physically uncontrollably violent Rice or Suh to also prove their "psychological stability" as a prerequisite for playing.. and if given a pass, that this merely confirms that singling out Fins teammates is nothing more than a contrived, PC dog and pony show, then I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree, eh?

Have I ever said that they need to earn their way back onto the field? Well Jerry does, but only because he's a fat, lazy tub of mediocrity (at best), but that has nothing to do with the report that he's also an asshole.

Comparing Bullygate to Ray Rice's situation is still apples and oranges, no matter how hard you try to mush them together.

Thanks Gonzo for making my point. So you agree that making Pouncey and Jerry submit to some bogus psychological evaluation to qualify to play is moronic, eh? Also, you're right in that the alleged verbal "bullying" - or at least as "reported," doesn't come close to rising to the level of Rice's physical criminality, so indeed it's "apples vs oranges." If the far lesser of those apple "malfeasances" need to be vetted psychologically to earn their way back onto the active roster - then by all means shouldn't the more egregiously-acting "oranges" like Rice and Suh?

It's the equivalent of exacting a harsher pennance on the town bully than the town mugger.

Knew, you'd come around to my way of thinking sooner or later - once I steered you towards the welcoming light. Good job

I thought we banned junc for a few days? No wonder you guys get along so well. Twins separated at birth. Almost exactly the same approach to discussions.

I have absolutely no problem with them having to submit to psychological evaluations for how they acted not only to Martin, but other players and team staff. None whatsoever (and neither would you if they were all jests). It has nothing to do with "earning" anything.

Once again, you are acting like Ray Rice is facing no punishment. It's the premise of your entire argument and it's absolutely flawed. Do you know he doesn't have to undergo a psych eval? Do you know he won't be suspended? Do you know anything about what the league is going to do regarding him at all? No. You don't know **** about it because it just started, so again, apples to oranges.

If Rice eventually faces no punishment from the league, then yes, there's an problem. That simply isn't the case at this point because it literally just got started. What you appear to be asking for is the equivalent of the league suspending all three players before any investigation was conducted. That didn't happen and it's not going to happen with Rice. Another reason they are completely different is that one is a workplace issue and one, at this point, is an outside legal issue. Of course it's being handled differently. That's just how real life works.

Of course, if Ray Rice was a Phin, I can only imagine the levels you would go to in defending him. "It's a league set up!1! That wasn't Ray Rice in the video, it was Goodell in blackface!1! The investigating cop was a family friend of junc's!1!"
