Flying blind here, but Jones cetainly passes the eye test and looks like a fast, fluid athlete. Ran a 4.60 at the combine while stumbling on his third step. I can't find any game film of him- playing at Shepherd University you have to question the level of competition, but he had 35 sacks in college. DE/OLB convert candidate- like Dion Jordan he's best suited for 3/4 OLB, but I'd rather have Jordan and this guy at WOLB than Philip Wheeler.
Btw there were a couple of highlights of Michigan OT Michael Scholfield's combine workout, and he looked like a pretty good athlete, better than I expected.
"Jones gained more attention at the combine by putting up some impressive numbers in various drills. Paired with other defensive linemen, including South Carolina’s Jadeveon Clowney, a projected No. 1 overall pick, Jones held his own. The 6-2, 235-pound Jones recorded the top vertical leap (40.5 inches) among all defensive linemen.
He also tied for second in the broad jump (124 inches), finishing behind Clowney (129) and had the fifth best overall time in the 40 (4.60) among linemen and linebackers.
Jones said he wasn’t surprised by his vertical leap given how good a jumper he is. The only disappointment for him was that he learned what the combine record was afterward. Informed his jump wasn’t far off the record, Jones said he would have liked to have established a new mark."
