If Cam Newton had tried to trademark "The House That Cam Built" in April 2011 the draft media would've nailed him to the cross. Manziel does it and it's a minor PFT blurb that goes largely ignored.

I would think most would probably tell Johnny he should focus on building that house before trademarking it.

There are two realities here in my opinion. The first one is that the reason Manziel can't catch any slack is because of his own doing. He brought it all on himself. But he doesn't care... yet. Neither did Cam Newton.

The second reality is that if anybody on the planet can rival Cam Newton's hot doggin' attitude and arrogance, it's Johnny Football. I think Cam Newton caught a lot of criticism that was unfair based on what his father did with him. I think Cam began to resent that, and it fueled his defiance. It made him a great player. However, just like Manziel... Newton brought some of it on himself too.

From what I observed, Cam Newton was going to have to suffer through a few things because of his attitude and arrogance... and I was dead right. He was going to have to get used to losing in the NFL, which he had never had to deal with before and it wasn't going to be easy. He was going to sulk and have to grow up... get called out by his teammates for lack of leadership and maturity. Every bit of this came to fruition.

It wasn't about playing football. I knew he could do that. It was about becoming a man. Cam Newton is becoming a man now. He's learned how to overcome it and mature as a person. He wasn't going to be successful if he didn't accomplish this. The same applies for Manziel.

The issue with Johnny Football is not all about football. It is about all the baggages he's going to bring with him. Whichever team draft him will have to deal with the circus comes with him. There are not many NFL can successfully handle it.

Football is a team game. Any one player cannot be bigger than the team. He doesn't seem to know how to lay low a bit, even it will probably help his draft stock.

I'd say my analysis Of him on pages 2,3,4 Were pretty spot on.

People thought I was nuts when I Called him Case Keenum 2.0, not so much anymore I bet.

But hey, he's got big hands, he's going to be great!

Johnny Football will be a bigger bust than Ryan Leaf. I wouldn't be shocked if the Browns just cut Manziel between now and next season.

What? lol...you think Manziel gets arrested?

I never posted in this thread but I posted my dislike of Manziel in other threads. I wouldn't have drafted him and that wasn't just based on the character concerns. Any QB that runs around like a chicken with his head cut off and then throws up a prayer in the vicinity of Mike Evans so that he could use his 6'5" frame to out jump everyone and make his QB look good was not anyone I'd have under center. It's also a reason I gave Mike Evans a bad draft grade initially. I couldn't tell what kind of football player he was because so many of his plays were improvisation by the QB. Evans did surprise and impress me at the combine though...he looked a lot better than I expected.
