A Closer Look at Cyrus Kouanjio

Lots of talk after that Palm Beach Post article, here's a closer look:

I'd have zero problem taking him at #19 for RT, if his knee checks out and renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews already said that it did:

Dude is a mauler with size and plenty of quicks/athleticism for RT, great fit for us imo. Siolid character, well spoken, too. Better prospect than #11 pick last year Alabama OT DJ Fluker- imo Kouandjio could be a solid pick at #19 and a good value after the misreported knee issue. Look at the steal that Carolina got last year after the overblown Loutulelei heart issue- I like Dion Jordan, but instead of him we could have had Lotuleilei and Menelik Watson- gulp.

ps mods please correct sp error in title, name should be Kouandjio, my bad

God, I hope this rumor is not true. I just do not see him as a ZBS guy.

He played LT at an elite college level and he dominated most of the time, he can play ZBS. Regardless, he has major power to boost the running game and he's plenty quick for RT, I'm more concerned with that than a perfect ZBS fit. When you factor out the bogus knee injury report, he just what the doctor ordered- no pun intended. Albert and Koundjio are night and day better than our OTs last year- I'd be happy with this draft:

    1. Kouandjio
    2. Kyle Van Noy
    3. Martavis Bryant/Donte Moncrief/Jordan Matthews
    4. Trai Turner
    5. AC Leonard
    6. Matt Patchan
    7. John Brown
