Koa Misi is the exact opposite of Zach Thomas, who always put the team first.

LOL, reports are Andrew Abraham of PBP got this wrong...SURPRISE!! Who would have though someone could outdo Omar for incompetence.

    ROTOWORLD

A Dolphins source "emphatically" told the Miami Herald that Dolphins SLB Koa Misi did not refuse a position change to middle linebacker.
The original report came from the Palm Beach Post, which -- with all due respect -- seems to be getting an awful lot of bad information lately. The PBP's story essentially claimed Misi told the Dolphins he couldn't handle the mental responsibilities associated with playing middle linebacker. For now, Misi is getting tried inside, with Dannell Ellerbe at weak-side linebacker and Philip Wheeler on the strong side. Reinforcements may be added in the draft.

The Dolphins plan to move Koa Misi to inside linebacker might be quashed by Misi himself, a team source tells the Palm Beach Post.

The Post first reported that the Dolphins planned to move Misi to the middle and then move to Dannell Ellerbe from inside to weakside linebacker and Philip Wheeler from weakside to strongside.

But the source says Misi is comfortable on the strongside. Despite having a strong year as the team’s strongside linebacker, Misi told coaches he was concerned about the added responsibilities of playing inside.

“It’s too much for him,” the source said.

Or course just because Misi says he’s more comfortable playing on the outside doesn’t mean the team won’t ultimately move him inside. It’s something they’re clearly considering. But it might also make sense to keep Misi where he’s had his most success.

Also the Dolphins later denied to another media outlet that Misi asked to remain on the strongside. Since this report first went up Misi has been unfairly criticized for not being a “team player.” He had his best season as a strongside linebacker and may feel he’s best suited there. There’s nothing wrong with expressing those concerns to his coaches.

Funny how everyone keeps saying he played his best last year like that makes up for how bad he's been since he has been a dolphin. Don 't get me wrong he is a solid LB vs the run. But he is terrible at pass rushing, coverage and pass recognition. He is so bad that even with our lack of talent last year at the LB position, he was still a two down LB at best. Last year we over paid THREE LBs not just two. How he gets so many supporters with so little production is beyond me. We have seen his ceiling and it isn't impressive. We need THREE upgrades at LB not just two. To be perfectly honest I see a lot more upside with the other two starters from last year than Koa, with the right coaching they have the talent to be serviceable, he doesn't. He has 2nd string talent, and 2nd string production. He hasn't made a game changing play since he put on a dolphins uniform. Just another in a long line of Jeff Ireland 2nd rd bust.

moving Misi to MLB is a horrible idea. Funny things is they already want to move the overpaid Ellerbee to another position.
Just another guy we overpaid that had very limited success before we paid him

Drafting Mosely or Borland solves the problem and puts Wheeler on the bench where he belongs.

Ellerbee might as well join him on bench. Be a good backup
