    Laurent Duvernay-Tardif - O-line prospect

Has anyone seen any video of the French Canadian pre med student from McGill University? Apparently he is strong and very athletic and pretty well built OT 6'5", 321 lbs. Miami was one of 6 teams to travel to see him on his pro day workout. We also flew him down to Miami for meetings. He's not used to the NFL quality of football but he's definitely smart and he may be a natural skilled footballer.
I'd welcome your thoughts and any video if available.

I think he's a great mid round target, not an immediate impact guy due to the competition I'd assume. Heard Russ Lande call him a 3rd round prospect and he's a head scout for a CFL team and has experience in the NFL. The guy was absolutely phenomenal at his pro day, testing extremely well. These are the best videos I could find:

This guy has tape of the East/West Shrine game, he's hard to find a lot of the time though.

I think the sky's the limit with this guy. If he sitting there in round 5 he's a guy I'd be very happy with as a potential development guy. My gut tells me he ends up with the Niners in the 5th round...just a hunch.

Sincere thanks for taking the time to find and attach the videos. He looks a raw beast with huge upside.
One of my concerns is that he may be too smart. Studying medicine at the top rated university in Canada (also rated in the top 25 in the world), he has to be extremely smart. He says that he's committed to football for now, but he may look to make some money and go back to medicine in a short time.

Thanks for the info, FTB! I've been interested in him ever since his name popped up about a month ago, but couldn't find much about him.

2 things about him worry me. One he's raw...so it's going to take some time for this guy to be ready to play at the NFL level. And this leads me to my second concern: Desire! Is he willing to commit himself to make a career as an NFL O-Lineman....or is he going to just stick around for a few years, then go back to medical school. If he's there in the 5th round though...he's worth the risk!

Here's his hudl tape also which shows an all 22 angle http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1279374/highlights/97081375

I'm very curious - needs a tonne of development - saw one interview that said he only practiced one day a week.

Natural, fluid athlete so appears that he's taking good steps but his footwork needs major work as does his stance and body position - but there's an awful lot to like.

I liken his trajectory to a Jason Peters [not saying he's like Jason Peters] in that he's athletic [Peters was a TE], has that aggressive nature that you want in an OLman and natural strength. To me - the biggest thing that jumped off the screen was his ability to run his feet through the block - but be mindful of opponents talent level. He moved a little like Robinson - Auburn OT down the field.

He's a Risk but one that could pan out. Considering his lack of football work and coupled with his apparent intelligence level - he could see a very fast growth path. As much as this draft shouldn't be about risk - I would not be opposed to going Seantrel Henderson in the 3rd at RT and this kid in the 4th to be the swing tackle and develop for a couple of years behind Albert.

He looks like he has superior strength and power. Compared to the lack of production we saw from Dallas Thomas last year, this guy seems to have much bigger upside. Unusual for a player to emerge out of Montreal, but natural talent can be found in the darnedest places.

Haha, wow! Kid's got move skills like Pouncey with a little more nastiness. He's raw, his feet are all over the place but he can move. Really good athlete. Plays with good pad level too. I'd like to see us take him and sit him for a year, work on his technique. I think he can start in this league at OT or Guard.
