On NO LEVEL did what he say in ANY WAY put down gays. No more than saying you not wanting your child to watch porn is against straight people. What the dolphins did was putting down a group of people, not what Jones said.

Your obviously not talking to me, since I certainly don't hate or even dislike, gays. I just hate having to pretend to support their agenda. But peace out straight guy hater.

Billion dollar, bills of dollars- for the Miami Dolphins, was there any other way to go about it?

It couldnt have been over the top. There is no top in Miami.. An nationally embarrassing bullying scandal blew the motherf-ker off.

Why is that not obvious to EVERY poster in Finheaven?

Whether you agree with the content, intent, extent, it doesnt matter. You should be smart enough to realize that the organization had to swat this fly with ordnance.

Appreciate that. I've tried over the years to continue to mold my thinking and become more acceptable of people/things I do not agree with. Doesn't mean it always happens as I am a stubborn SOB raised from a generation or so ago from most here. As a Christian (and a lousy one at that) I try to adhere to the old adage, "hate the sin, not the sinner" and certainly understand that my views of sin are often drastically different from others. Though, at the same time my personal convictions and beliefs are steadfast. Or so I like to think.

Hey you have every right to your beliefs, I don't agree with religion, I think it's perplexing...but as long as you aren't casting your beliefs on people and putting them down then I think that's your right. Donald Sterling comments is a good example...that didn't even bother me, you're in the privacy of your own home and you're hardly oppressing anyone. I don't think we should just blindly support things, but when it comes to the whole equality thing making a stance is the only way there's every going to be any positive change.

The issue I have with this Sam issue from a sports perspective is that when I tune into sports, I want to watch sports. I don't want to see sports journalists indulging their own fantasies about being more culturally relevant than they actually are. This is a recurring theme in sports media; sports journalists keep pounding on issues people do not care about and try to make them care. How long has ESPN been banging on the "concussions in football" drum when every fan I've talked to doesn't care in the slightest? And when it comes to Sam the football player, I don't care to know about his sexual preferences, I don't care or know much of anything about the personal lives of virtually any player in any sport that I would consider my favorite. What I do know, is that I want to be able to watch NFL coverage and not have 15 min of Michael Sam coverage in a half hour NFL program. I hated Tebowmania for a similar reason, both phenomena make themselves higher than the team, the league, the sport. I feel bad for whoever the other Rams first draft picks were, all their hard work to get drafted in the higher rounds, and now they've been upstaged by a player whose fame has nothing to do with football and the sports media is really to blame for this.
