A brilliant article by Skolnick, must-read.

    http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/f...dolphins-front

That's probably the last words on ricky thing.
This sentence is the best part of it:

The past few days, I've found myself running back a thousand of the former running back's quotes. I've struggled to find sense, whether about his indifference about money (yet, luxury purchases, contract concerns, promoting Paxil for a fee) or his disdain for fame (yet, video game ads, parties sponsored by magazines) or his wish for anonymity (yet, a call-in, tell-all radio show and a uniquely personal Web site) or his desire to spend more time with his kids (yet, long overseas trips) or his apathy about football (yet, working himself into sensational shape).

    P.S. Narcotics are e-e-e-evil.

Skolnick states beautifully the sense of closure I reached after hearing the latest news. RW's retirement is a lot easier to swallow now.

    He is right on.

ENOUGH with Ricky. Training camp begins tomorrow without him, and I for one am excited.

    Peace

Ethan has written probably the most well-thought-out, realistic editorials since this whole thing began. His stances and writings echo and elaborate on the confused feelings of anger and resentment that the public feels over this.

Good timing, I was going to start a thread about how we should stop wasting time writing about him. There is nothing we can say or do, that would change what is going to happen with him. On with the season with the great D that we have and if wanny stays out of it, an unpredictable offense.

I agree completely. I just read the colum by Skolnick, and I must say, I loved it and agree with it completely as well. Better the Dolphins just get past this guy, it would have been alot of distractions anyway !

Skolnick's columns on Ricky's quitting have been the best I've read. He actually writes from the perspective of a dolphin fan rather than Ricky's lover like LeBastard.

The best way to evaluate this whole scenario is to thank Ricky Williams for saving the Dolphins $3 mil in cap space without penalty. If he had stayed and been suspended the Dolphins would have been out that money.

Thank you Ricky Williams for doing us a favor and allowing the Dolphins to find closure to your selfish, worthless *** and be able to move on immediately without having to babysit your worthless piece of crap *** for another year.

So long, good riddance. Go smoke your whatever and get the hell out of my life!
Rick Williams is DEAD to me.
