    The Anthony Thomas update

    Nothing too juicy here.

This one is a little more interesting. They didn't say Thomas was off the market, and the paper speculates that the Bears will not be able to get a high round pick for him, due to his impending UFA status.

By the way, this is unrelated to running backs, but we might be after another Bear. The Bears cut DT Bryan Robinson and we're listed as a suitor. Here's the link: http://www.suntimes.com/output/bears...pt-bear06.html

I hope we get the A-Train for a 3rd because he could help us and because I got him with my last pick on my fantasy football team.

If we give up a day one pick for A-train....I'll.......I'll.....I'll.......I'll yell and cry for months until people start to hate me for it.
At a television studio in Hollywood on Monday night, Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor was doing the fox trot. He probably was wearing makeup, too.
About an hour south down Interstate 5, quarterback John Beck was on the verge of lining up his chicken nuggets in a shotgun formation.

Cool, me too! Actually, it wasn't my last pick; it was my third-to-last pick in a 25 round draft.

I think Thomas is worth at least a third, but it's starting to sound like we might be able to get him for less.

Actually infins, I totally agree with you. I watch more Bears games than I care to admit (whole fam are bears fans) and I really do not see a guy that is worth that much to us. He reminds me of a Lamar Smith type back. Kind of big, but slow and can not really give much. To give a first day pick for him would just be vastly overpaying... IMO.
Offseason again... at least this one should be exciting!

A-Train would be a nice addition -- but not for a 1st day draft pick! I actually think this trade will end up happening, with the Phins giving up a 5th rounder or so.

I think we will see if we can get Dante Brown 1st. If we can't then we will make a move for the A-train.

The Bears won't give him up for less than a 3rd. He may not be a guy that can take it 60 yds., but he can pound it in there which fits our style. It will open up Minor later in the game after all of that pounding. Right now, we are playing with the house's money. I'd definitely pick him up for a 3rd if we could re-sign him to a long-term deal. It would make our team a lot better IMO. Since 2000, these were the backs that were taken in the 3rd round:

    Musa Smith
    Chris Brown
    Justin Fargas
    Lamar Gordon
    Brian Westbrook
    James Jackson
    Kevan Barlow
    Travis Minor
    Travis Prentice
    J.R. Redmond
    Reuben Droughns
    Doug Chapman

Notice that it's pretty much hit or miss. Kevan Barlow looks like he'll be the man and we'll have to see about Brown but none of these guys have put up the #'s that the A-Train has.
