You want your son to get drafted? Then...

don't vote, or else vote for Bush. Either way, if Bush gets reelected, no matter what he says, or doesn't say, he will need to reinstitute the draft to meet the PNAC's obligation to be prepared to fight on multiple fronts.

And with no third term possible, the consequences of his actions will be negligble.

if i remember correctly it was bush that said the draft would not be implemented, not kerry, so what do you base this on???

In 1999 initial research was being conducted. No draft implementation plan was being created at that time. Note how the draft implementation scheme was developed in 2004.

A congressional allocation of funds specifically for Selective Service boards is announced on the day of the first presidential debate thereby ensuring that it will be overlooked by the media, all of which is focused on the debate.

    Yeah, no draft. Riiiight.

Right now, we do not have the military strength to respond to North Korea suddenly invading South Korea. In fact, the Bush Administration recently announced plans to downsize troop levels in Korea. I can understand moving troops out of Europe, to some degree, but Korea could be the next "hot spot". We should actually consider putting some additional assets there, but wait.......they are all in Iraq, a country who didn't have WMDs unlike North Korea who actually have WMDs

I guess the fact that S Korea is in no danger of invasion from N Korea doesn't have any impact on your opinion? N Koreas military is technologically still back in the late 60's, where S Korea is almost current to the US. Jesus Clumpy, "fact" isn't a dirty word!!

It's only getting pathetic? I am shocked that anyone with access to what has been written here on this topic recently would actually seek to resort to this sort of fear mongering.

It was sick and wrong the first few times it was brought up...but now that it has become a daily mantra on this site, I'd say it's slipped into the pathetic. At this point it's bordering on Queeg's rants about the strawberries.
