We spend way too much money on defense

The chart below is telling. We are subsidizing the defense industry too much. A direct result of this is our standard of living is lowered. The next time you hear the Cheap Labor Conservative mantra that Social Security can't be saved, or that we can't afford universal health coverage, keep in mind that the US military budget is almost as much as the rest of the world's.

We just the right amount. It's a crazy world out there. And I'm amazed you actually think we spend too much $ during a freaking war.

    What a joke!

The real joke is being perpetuated on the American people. It's no wonder that Bush/Cheney have to resort to fear-mongering. Rational people would object to their country's money being spent in this way.

So you think we should cut spending on the military during a war?

    Again, what a joke!

I think we all agree that we need to be strong on defense. The problem is not defense spending, but wasteful defense spending. And I'm sure there's been plenty of wasteful spending in the Pentagon these past four years. That always happens when the Republicans are in control (Remember the $640 toilet seats?).

You're making a huge assumption when there are posters like NEO around.
