    Play Makers

Hey guys, just curious about your thoughts on adding playmakers to our football team. Seems to me to many times a big play needed to be made and we just couldnt do it, sure thompson made the catch versus new england, but we need consistent playmakers on this squad. like the rest of you i cant wait for the draft, and im completely torn about who i want us to pic, one minute its smith, then brown, edwards, i wish it was tommorrow. mike williams intrigues me though, while not a great fit for our team hes a mismatch, regardless of his 40 time hes a size advantage over db's and he can easily beat a linebacker or safety down the field. also as a dave meggett type in the latter rounds do you think darren sproles would be a good fit for us. i think he has quickness and agility of dante hall and could be a useful return and 3rd down specialist...any thoughts, thanks for your time guys

Since you only like the size advantage and you don't care about speed as much. than i think we should see if Shaquile O'neal and Yao ming want to come play for us. just imagine that size advantage.

good call claton and duper. Football speed. Theres no doubt that Mike williams in not a completely "quick twich" guy as they say, but you can't argue with him running past guys down the field and pushing would be tacklers to the ground with a swift stiff arm. i wouldn't not complain if we had him. But, when you get right down to it, who the heck knows if Mike or Braylon will be better. I look at Mike Williams and say how will this kid not be a 100 ball a year guy with 1400+ yards for 8-10 years of his career. But then i look at edwards and i see the same thing, with less size, but more speed. If i had to pick right now, I'd take Edwards though. he's def more polished. There's just something about Mike williams in his interviews that rubs me the wrong way. Can't quite put my finger on it but i don't know. Plus he's been out of football for a year. But who knows, he might be a TO type and the year off might have let him be completely 100% healthy, not rusty. Either way, both guys are playmakers and id be happy with either one. This draft is a crapshoot any way you look at it. LOADS of potential, but nothing certain.

No prob man. They're just trying to have fun i guess. By the way i like your Darren Sproles comment. A buddy of mine plays D2 ball and he knows a lineman who plays for k state. (not sure about his name). But he said the lineman said That sproles is a beast and he never saw a running back as talented as sprolles. k state played some teams with pretty good RB's. he said sprolles gets knocked on for his size a lot, but with his strength and agility, even at that size is incredible. If he can stay healthy, which is a big if at that size, he could be a pretty darn good RB at the next level. Now i know Barry sanders wasn't quite that small but he was what like 5'7" 200 or something? Sure sprolles doesn't quite have Barry's footwork, but with a good line he could wreak havoc at the second level.
